Extreme cold delays city of Asheville garbage/recycling collection

Full announcement from the city of Asheville:

ASHEVILLE – Cold weather conditions have delayed garbage and recycling collection today, Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Due to the extreme cold conditions, garbage collection trucks are not operating and Sanitation crews are operating on a delayed schedule. Residents are requested to leave their trash out at curbside for crews to collect as soon as trucks are in operation.

Curbside Management, the City’s recycling contractor will also be operating on a delayed schedule. Recycling customers scheduled for pickup Tuesday are requested to place their recyclables out today. In the event that they are not collected today, they will be collected as soon as trucks are operating.
