Red Cross opens warming shelters for Henderson, Transylvania counties

Full announcement from the American Red Cross:

Greenville, SC, January 7, 2014 – The American Red Cross of the Western Carolinas is opening shelters at its Hendersonville, NC office and at the Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Seneca, SC. These warming shelters are in response to extended duration power outages in Henderson, Transylvania and Oconee counties. The shelters are scheduled to open at 10:00 a.m. this morning.

The emergency shelter in Anderson County is located at the Anderson Civic Center, 3027 MLK Jr. Blvd., Anderson, SC. Transportation to and from the shelter is available by calling Anderson County Emergency Services at (864) 260-4444.
