Clubland features: Neutopia, Blank Tapes, That’s a Thing

Psychedelic textures: Cody Sarabia and friends invite local art lovers to “indulge all of your senses in a surreal environment filled with audio/visual textures” during Neutopia, an art installation and potluck with musical performances by Minima Moralia, I Am Just a Pupil and Artifax. The multimedia smorgasbord unfolds on Saturday, June 22 at Apothecary.

Summer vibes: Local concert promoter Grandma Presents continues its run of sun-soaked garage rock on Sunday, June 23 as The Blank Tapes unleash an assault of ‘60s psych-surf throwback at Double Crown. Beach Day and Song Preservation Society open.

It’s complicated: That’s a Thing, Asheville’s one and only post-punk supergroup, has been busy this year, but that hasn’t kept it from tightening its fuzzy melodies and intricate guitar/synth interplay. The quartet plays Apothecary on Tuesday, June 25 with Asheville’s Chris Head and Brooklyn’s Bellows.
