Dine Out for Haiti today

If you’re looking for a good excuse to skip that sandwich you brown-bagged from home and treat yourself to a deluxe lunch out on the town, here it is: Today is the Dine Out for Haiti event.

“There has been a lot of talk (and a lot of action) around Asheville since the terrible earthquakes in Haiti about what can be done,” begins a press release on the Asheville Business Blog. “Here is one effort that many of us can help with.  Many Asheville restaurants have partnered together for a Dine Out for Haiti fundraiser on February 11.”

Participating is simple: pick your favorite eatery from the list of more than 20 that are participating. Then grab a table and nosh as usual: 10 percent of your bill will be donated to The Red Cross in support of ongoing relief efforts in Haiti.

Not feeling lunch? Use any meal today to benefit Haiti. Says blogger Asheville Foodie “Consider planning your ‘dinner out’ to coincide with Feb. 11. Breakfast, lunch or dinner – you choose, but please participate. We visit these restaurants all the time – be certain to do so for Dine Out For Haiti.”
