It’s big … it’s beastly … it’s mythological … and it’s lurking! It’s the Best of Western North Carolina 2012: Local Legends.

Voting began July 27 and runs through Aug. 22. Go to bestofwnc.com to vote.

WNC has many legends: Popcorn Sutton, the underground crystal lairs, James Franco the competent contra dancer. But those are fish tales compared to the real local legends — the ones you can eat, listen to at a club, hang on your wall or go to for a flower barrette or a yoga class. Meaning, of course, the Best of WNC, as determined by you, our readers.

There’s only one way to participate in this year’s poll: VOTE.

We’ve added new categories this year to keep up with the mayhem and magic, and our ballot system is as easy as ever. The results will be revealed in two issues, Oct. 10 and Oct. 17. We’ll also reveal this year’s Best of WNC mascot. Hint: It’s not James Franco.

When I tried, it said something like I already had a partly-filled out survey, and couldn’t start over, nor could I ‘see’ the partly-filled survey.

I hope you guys haven’t been hacked again. (look for Tim Moffitt to win big in every category…)

      Hello bsummers,

Did you get far with the poll? It sounds like a glitch that may require you to clear your Web cache and start again. Let us know if you put a lot of work in, and we’ll see what we can do.
