Clare and the Reasons are based in Brooklyn, but they went to Berlin, Germany to write and record their forthcoming album, KR-51. The band is touring songs in advance of that album (it drops in July) and they stopped through Asheville on Wednesday, June 6, to play a show at The LAB en route to Bonnaroo.

Here, Clare and Olivier Manchon talk about the influence of Germany on their music, the pleasant aspect of darkness in their sound, and how classical training is applied to pop songs.
