Last chance for trees and elves

Don’t end up with a Charlie Brown Christmas tree this year. Even if you’ve left your tree to the last minute, you can still pick out the perfect fir at Tom Sawyer Tree Farm and Elf Village. Pre-cut evergreens are available, or the discerning tree-lover can choose and cut their own.

While you’re there, bring the kids to a real life elf village, complete with Christmas crafts, a wish list station and plenty of elves. Just cross the bridge over a small creek, walk through a wooded trail and pass a waterfall until you find a village of tiny colorful buildings. Elf houses, a post office and gift shops dot the streets and rumor has it, Santa will be there as well.

Tom Sawyer Tree Farm is open through Dec. 23. 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. 240 Chimney Pond Road, Glenville. www.tomsawyerchristmastreefarm.com or 743-5456.
