Listen to the brand new classic sound

Secret Agent 23 Skidoo may have relocated to sunny California, but Asheville still gets to claim the king of kid-hop. Especially when he keeps returning to visit. And bring fresh-off-the-presses music.

Skidoo holds a live album release show at The Orange Peel on Saturday, Oct. 5. Doors at 10:30 a.m., performance at 11 a.m. Puppeteer Hobey Ford and The Vance Chorus also take the stage. $10/free for kids under age 3.

The musician writes, “The new Secret Agent 23 Skidoo live album is out now. It’s funk fried hip hop for the whole freaky fam. Skidoo’s national fame as the premier purveyor of positive hip hop for the elementary and middle school set combines with the off kilter funk of Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band, a 10-piece band with buckets of flavor, loved and respected from New Orleans to New York City. The King of Kid Hop’s usual uplifting messages and witty wordplay are complimented by a big ol’ 10-man groove machine in full swing, magnetizing a packed house!”

So welcome Skidoo and family back to home turf and help launch the new record in style. Get ready for the show by checking out a video from LEAF Schools & Streets that resulted from 23 Skidoo spending three days with 4th and 5th graders from Isaac Dickson Elementary.
