Mardi Gras Cook-off

Whether you have a flare for preparing authentic cajun cuisine or you simply enjoy tasting it, everyone is welcome to the annual Cajun Cook-off fundraiser this Sunday in West Asheville. The good times will begin to roll at 2 p.m. and last until 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Building on the corner of Swannanoa and Haywood in West Asheville. Come test out your best parade garb in support of the Asheville Mardi Gras parade March 6 at 2 p.m. in downtown for Mardi Gras in the mountains.

There will be a silent auction featuring a wide array of local fine art. All donations, whether artistic or culinary, are welcome in the hopes of keeping the parade jazzy, snazzy and free of cost!

The celebration welcomes all quirky Mardi Gras get-ups and food entries alike. Bring your gumbo and your art entry.The winner will be crowned Asheville’s best cajun chef and go home with a trophy to prove it. All you need to get in on the excitement is a $10 entry fee and your appetite.
