Modest Mouse to play the Orange Peel in July

Today, the Orange Peel announced that Seattle-based indie-rockers Modest Mouse will perform on Monday, July 19.

Singer/guitarist Isaac Brock, drummer Jeremiah Green and bassist Eric Judy have served as a backbone of the group since its 1993 inception, though other musicians have contributed over the two-decade career. Wikipedia notes, “Guitarist Johnny Marr (formerly of The Smiths) joined the band in May 2006, along with percussionist Joe Plummer (formerly of the Black Heart Procession) and multi-instrumentalist Tom Peloso, to work on the album We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. Guitarist Jim Fairchild joined the band in February 2009.”

The band’s most recent studio album is 2007’s We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank; last year the group released the eight-track EP No One’s First and You’re Next. Last month it was announced that 2000’s The Moon & Antarctica will be re-released on vinyl.

Tickets for the July show go on sale Friday, April 16th at noon. $35, ages 16+.

I’m there if I can make Isaac promise to not play anything made after 2001.

  2. Yo Mamma!

Awesome!! I am going to get as many tickets as possible and sell them to all the lame-o indie kids for twice as much!! I love when shows like this come to the Orange Peel…CHA CHING!!

The band is better than ever … Bunk, you need to listen to their newer stuff.
Yo Mamma … the tics sold out in 15 minutes … how many did you get? I will buy them all and give them to my friends who cannot afford them.

  4. I’m not sure why anyone would feel sorry for another person who dislikes either a band or a venue. Feel sorry for those who are less fortunate, not a difference of taste.

I do feel sorry for the less fortunate … where did you see that I didn’t? Shad has a history of disliking everything, but thanks for moderating.

    I’m very sorry / Cause thats what I’m waiting for / That’s what I’m waiting for / That’s what I’m waiting for, aren’t I? / That’s what I’m waiting for
