My Side of the Mountain, Vol. 8: Her Marigold

Brothers Matt and Kevin Rumley have been playing music together for most of their lives. For the past few years, the pair have been contributing to a number of local projects that includes Electric Owls, Lovett, Cobra Horse and Brian McGee. Until recently, though, the Rumley’s had yet to pursue their real passion: Her Marigold. Now, the duo is taking matters into their own hands with a Kickstarter project to raise funds for Her Marigold’s debut LP, We Learn It to Forget It. Xpress caught up with the brothers earlier this week for a pared-down rendition of their sprawling melodic rock.

Her Marigold plays its first show at Bandwagon (474 Haywood Road, above the Dry Goods Shop) on Friday, June 10.
