Smart bet web extra: First Friday Gallery Walks

Smart bet web extra: First Friday Gallery Walks-attachment0

Downtown Asheville boasts more than 20 art galleries, studios and museums within a half-mile radius. Add new exhibits, wine and snacks, and you’ve got the makings of a festive occasion. In fact, the First Friday Gallery Walks, held (as the name implies) the first Friday of every month, April-December, means the fun happens on a regular basis. And this week marks the first art walk of the 2014 season. Among other gallery openings, Woolworth Walk holds a reception for Keeler + Nelson, featuring the works of glass artist Kyle Keeler and painter John Nelson (whose art is pictured here).
