Vote for bands to play LAAFF and DigFest-attachment0

Want to help select the lineup at Downtown Independent Groove Festival (DigFest) and Lexington Avenue Arts and Fun Festival (LAAFF)? Here’s your chance: The two local fetes are asking for fan suggestions of favorite bands through a poll on Facebook. At press time, 18 acts had been added to the poll, with Pipapelli taking an early lead, followed by Uncle Hamish & the Hooligans (pictured) and Paper Tiger.

Don’t see your favorite? Add it in the “add an answer” field at the bottom of the poll. The top five highest-ranking bands on the poll will compete at a ‘Battle Of The Bands’ held at Emerald Lounge on Thursday July 25. Two winners will be named. Of those, one earns a spot on LAAFF along with a multitrack recording of their Emerald Lounge performance. The other will play DigFest at The Orange Peel.

DigFest takes place on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 15 and 16. LAAFF is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 1 this year.
