Brooklyn-based noise-pop duo Sleigh Bells (Alexis Krauss and Derek Miller) came together from vastly different musical direction: he from a a hardcore band and she from a teen pop band. Their first EP was released in ‘09. Read Sleigh Bells’ 2010 interview with Xpress here.

araabMUZIK is the stage name of Abraham Orellana, a hip-hop record producer. He played Moogfest last year. Here’s what Xpress writer Jordan Lawrence had to say about the act:  “As a beat maker for artists such as Cam’ron and Busta Rhymes, araabMUZIK is something of an underground icon. Building from minimalist drum machine beats, his compositions expand in dense, complicated directions that include brash club synths, eerie sound effects and throbbing bass. Now with an acclaimed solo album to his credit (2011’s Electronic Dream) he’s ready for his time in the spotlight. — J.L.

Ah no thanks … I don’t care for electronic music and please do not refer to them as musicians!
