In Photos: Warren Haynes Christmas Jam 2016

Asheville native Warren Haynes held his 28th annual eponymous Christmas Jam, at the US Cellular Center, to benefit nonprofit organization Habitat For Humanity. This year had quite an impressive lineup, featuring the talents of Haynes (of course), Grateful Dead founding member Bob Weir, Michael McDonald (The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan), Jamey Johnson and Alison Krauss, The Last Waltz Band (an all-star tribute to The Band), Branford Marsalis, George Porter Jr., Don Was, Eric Krasno, Bob Margolin, Duane Trucks, Marcus King and many more.

It was a (quite literally) jam-packed night with tons of guests sitting in with each group’s sets. There was non-stop music thanks to pianist Holly Bowling, who played during the transitions between sets and sat in with The Last Waltz Band performance. For yet another year, tickets sold out in a matter of days, but local video production team IAmAVL filmed and live-streamed the entire show.
