Here's the press release from Mars Hill College:

Senior adults from throughout the region are invited to Mars Hill College for a time of worship, learning and laughter at the Spring Festival for Senior Adults, to be held at Broyhill Chapel on Thursday, April 18, 2013, from 9 am until 2:30 pm.

Morning worship for the event will be led by Rev. Buddy Freeman, pastor of First Baptist Church, Marshall, NC.

Worship will be followed by sessions designed to address issues of importance to older adults. Freeman will lead a session called Understanding What Prayer Is. Former state congressman, Mars Hill mayor and Mars Hill College administrator Ray Rapp will update participants on recent political and governmental events which could impact older North Carolinians, titled, The State of Aging in NC.

Clay Warf, Executive Director of the North Carolina Baptist Foundation, and Bill Overby, NCBF Director of Trust and Endowment Development, will teach participants how to make the most of their financial gifts in a session called Using Earthly Gifts to Make a Heavenly Difference, and Averil Bonsall, retired Extension Master Gardener Coordinator from DeKalb County, GA, will lead a program about gardening, called: Your Garden and You - Aging Gracefully Together.

Entertainment will include side-splitting, family humor from comedian Renea Henderson, as well as a short program of show tunes by the very talented “Showstoppers,” of Mars Hill College.
