Here's the info from the Western North Carolina Pilots Association Education Foundation:

Western North Carolina Pilots Association Education Foundation is proud to announce that we are taking letters of application for 2013 Aviation Grants. If you are interested in applying please read the following.

1. Who is eligible to apply?
Any person that lives in Western North Carolina that is working toward an FAA certificate or rating and is at least 17 years of age.

2. How do I apply?
Submit a letter of application and two letters of reference, not family members, to Ruffin Benton, chairman WNCPA Education Foundation. Applications may be mailed to Ruffin Benton 116 Ridgewood Place, Brevard, NC 28712 and should also be followed up with an e mail message to confirm receipt to gruffinbenton@aim.com. Letter of Application should include the applicants aviation accomplishments to date, plan for completing rating(s) community involvement and accomplishments, any information about yourself that might be of interest to the committee and your contact information.

3. How are applicants scored?
The selection committee puts heavy emphasis on finical need and aviation accomplishments but will not be limited to these areas.

4. What is the deadline for application?
Applications must be received on or before 4/15/2013
