ASHEVILLE – The Western North Carolina Alliance is offering a great six-session discussion course on climate change, “Global Warming: Changing Course.”
The course runs from Jan. 24-Feb 28. Participants will explore the history and science of global warming, personal values and habits as they relate to climate change, and personal actions to curb the effects of global warming. The course will also cover issues related to energy use and what we can do to take action as individuals and communities interested in promoting energy sustainability.
“Global Warming: Changing Course” contains solution-based curriculum encouraging discourse on energy production and extraction, peak oil, fossil fuel subsidies, energy efficiency, equity, energy policy and environmental impacts.
When: Every Thursday, 6-7:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 24 (introductory class), ending Feb. 28.
Where: Battery Park Book Exchange & Champagne Bar, Asheville
Cost: $35 for WNCA members; $40 for non-members
Registration Deadline: Friday, Jan. 18th
