A-B Tech seeks volunteers

Here’s the press release from A-B Tech:

A-B Tech seeks volunteers to fill specific areas of service

A-B Tech Community College is seeking volunteers with experience in computer skills, drama and listening skills to work in the following areas on campus.

Vet Connections Café needs volunteers to extend its hours due to increased interest in the open lab for veterans. Volunteers are scheduled for two or three hour shifts in the afternoon. Requirements for this volunteer role are good listening skills, computer skills, and the desire to help others.
The Café is where veterans on the A-B Tech campus can find a place to connect. A group of A-B Tech Volunteers have created a relaxing environment where veterans attending the college can come to take a break, enjoy some refreshments, network with other veterans, study and receive tutoring from knowledgeable volunteers.

A-B Tech’s Information System Technology Department has an opening for a volunteer with interest in computer hardware, software and networking. Basic computer and networking knowledge is necessary for this volunteer post.

Volunteers with drama backgrounds are asked to inquire about participating in the drama club designed for veterans enrolled at A-B Tech.
The Academic Learning Center has several time slots for volunteers interested in a desk post. Volunteers will register students and peer tutors and offer helpful information.

Find out how to help at A-B Tech by calling or emailing Jeralie Andrews, Coordinator of Volunteers and Interns, 398-7761, jeralieeandrews@abtech.edu. Orientation and training is provided.
