A tribute to Lennon, a benefit for Aurora Studio, Oct. 7

“Imagine Lennon,” a benefit for Aurora Studio & Gallery, will take place Friday, Oct. 7th, 6 – 10 p.m. at Highland Brewing Company.
The concert will feature over 20 local musicians who will highlight Lennon’s musical genius, including The Alarm Clock Conspiracy, The Dirty Badgers, Cindi Lou & The Want To, Andrew Scotchie, Dorsey Parker, R. Scott Murray, Forrest Smith, Bill Kopp, John McKinney, Laura Blackley and many more. . Musical director Ian Reardon has selected Lennon to honor his ability to overcome his addiction to heroin, which ties in with the mission of Aurora Studio & Gallery.
Aurora Studio & Gallery is a supportive art studio for artists in recovery from behavioral health needs, addiction and/or homelessness. The program offers art supplies, instruction and community to artists who would not otherwise have access to art classes.  The support enhances the lives of some of our community’s most fragile artists, while it strengthens their artistry and spirit.
Over 40 items have been donated for the silent auction, including: $100 gift certificate from Second Gear, Three Minifoogers (effect pedals) from MOOG Music and a portrait of John Lennon painted by Robert Ransom!

For our friends in the recovery community, please note there will be free iced tea while it lasts. Suggested donation is $10 at the door. Arts2People is the fiscal sponsor for Aurora Studio.
