AC-T endorses Whilden, Ramsey

In the Buncombe County races for seats in the N.C. House, the Asheville Citizen-Times endorsed Republican Nathan Ramsey (District 115) and Democrat Jane Whilden (Democrat 116). Here’s an excerpt from the editorial, published Oct. 20:

In Buncombe state House District 115, Democrat Susan Wilson faces Republican Nathan Ramsey. Ramsey served capably as chair of Buncombe County’s commission and is recommended for the seat.

The contest for N.C. House District 116 is another rematch, with former Democratic Rep. Jane Whilden facing GOP Rep. Tim Moffitt. Moffitt has proved to be an effective legislator; however, much of that effectiveness has sparked controversy. Critics say Moffitt undertook moves on legislative moves on the regional airport, water system and county commission redistricting with little consultation with other government officials.
