Academy at Terpsicorps holds open house Nov. 14-15

Press release:

Terpsicorps, the unconventional professional ballet company that delights Asheville with vivid cutting-edge dance is expanding their mission. After 13 Seasons of being Asheville’s leader in professional dance, they are now bringing the same quality and level of expertise to WNC’s dance students with the Academy at Terpsicorps.

The weekend of November 14-15 brings the Academy’s Open House in celebration of the completion of the new three studio facility. The weekend features free classes for all ages in a variety of dance styles. No need for pre-registration

The Academy opened its doors in a temporary location with an abbreviated schedule in mid-September, but is thrilled to be unveiling their Patton Ave location in West Asheville at the Open House. With an all star faculty including Maloy and former Balanchine dancer and director emeritus of the Atlanta Ballet, Robert Barnett, the Academy looks to be one of the most exciting things to happen in Asheville’s dance scene in many years. With classes for students ages 3-adult, ranging from an intensive pre-professional training program to hip-hop and creative movement, the school’s three state of the art studios will be going all day. The company’s not-for-profit status also makes a substantial scholarship program possible. A large part of the new mission is to bring children from all of Asheville’s diverse communities together in one inclusive and inspirational environment.
