Aeroflow Community Garden takes Root in South Asheville
South Asheville business welcomes employees and community members to share in the harvestSouth Asheville, August 17, 2016 — Aeroflow Healthcare is proud to announce that their community garden is in full swing and continues to expand. The garden broke ground in the spring of 2016 with plans to share harvests with employees and community members. Now, the garden is ready for picking.
The Aeroflow community garden is home to a bountiful spread of vegetables including watermelon, muskmelon, cucumber, squash and tomatoes. There is also a crop of bell peppers, jalapenos, okra, corn and eggplant for visitors to enjoy. With the coming seasons, there are plans to expand the garden to include large plots for more varieties of fruits, vegetables and seasonal plants like sunflowers.
Aeroflow welcomes everyone to take home as many fresh vegetables as they please. “The first step to being happy and healthy is eating lots of fruits and veggies! In order to encourage a happy and healthy environment I have taken on this project,” says Alexia Berube, garden coordinator. “Aeroflow employees have enjoyed helping and watching the garden grow into something they can take home to their families.”
Aeroflow is constantly committed to improving quality of life, and the garden is a simple way to offer healthy foods to all who enter. A welcome sign in the garden makes this message clear. “Aeroflow Healthcare is committed to following our mission to improve each of our patient’s quality of life through compassion, excellent service, and exceptional produce,” the sign states.
The garden is maintained by a team of Aeroflow employees who tend to the crops throughout the week. The team has grand plans for the future of the garden, and hopes that the benefits of fresh produce will nourish the community. Aeroflow gardeners hope to share the garden plots with anyone who needs fertile soil and fresh vegetables: the space is open for everyone to enjoy year round.
