Altapass Orchard Book Club meets Oct. 16

October Meeting of Orchard Book Club

The next meeting of the Orchard Book Club will take place on Wednesday, October 16, from 10:30 to noon at the Orchard at Altapass. The selected book for this month is King’s Mountain, by New York Times bestselling author Sharyn McCrumb. This newly released book is a ballad novel based on the true story of the battle of King’s Mountain. Ms. McCrumb is a descendant of Robert Sevier, one of the “overmountain men” who fought in the battle that turned the tide of the American Revolution. Copies of the book, signed by the author, are available in the Orchard store. Boxed lunches will be available for $10 with reservations. Lunch reservations may be made by calling Switzerland Café at least 1 day in advance (828.765.5289). The Altapass Foundation, Inc., doing business as the Orchard at Altapass, is a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit.
