American Advertising Federation Asheville makes comeback, holds kickoff event Sept. 30

From a press release:

Asheville, NC — The American Advertising Federation Asheville (AAFA) is regenerating, reinvigorating, rejuvenating and reviving the local chapter in response to a surge in interest among members of the local marketing community.

The Kick‐Off Event takes place September 30, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Catawba Brewery, 63 Brook Street, Asheville, NC 28803. It’s going to be part party and part chapter business, giving members and prospects the perfect opportunity to meet the new Board, mingle and network with peers and grab a few brews and finger foods.

As Asheville continues to reign as one of the premier destinations for small and medium‐sized businesses across the country, the face of the AAFA needs to play a vital role in that growth. The American Advertising Federation is THE voice for the advertising industry, comprising more than 210affiliates nationwide. Participation locally gives Asheville marketers the chance to compete with the big dogs in the national American Advertising Awards competition, formerly known as the ADDYs, to participate in national conferences and tap into a huge network of advertising professionals.

“Asheville boasts such a large, creative community that needs to be plugged in to the regional and national advertising scene,” says interim AAFA president Tim Shumbera. “This club is bound for greatness with the level of quality and commitment we’re seeing among the current roster of members.”

Marketers of every ilk are encouraged to attend the big Kick-Off Event to see what all the fuss is about. In addition to regular social gatherings, the Board and its team members are working diligently to put together professional development opportunities the likes of which rarely are seen in WNC. Everyone, from graphic designers, web developers and writers to brand managers, media buyers, advertising agencies, marketing professionals, social media experts, non-profits, television and radio stations, printers and small businesses, is invited to join us for an enlightening evening of fun.

AAF Asheville brings together the creative minds and diverse disciplines that make up WNC’s advertising industry. We’re a member of District 3 in the American Advertising Federation. AAF Asheville offers advertising expertise and support to the membership and the entire Western North Carolina community through self-‐regulation, education, professional development, communications and public service.
