MORGANTON, NC– Jim Gilchrist, founder of the Minutemen organization supporting secure borders, announced his endorsement of Vance Patterson in the upcoming Republican runoff election on July 17th. Gilchrist has been a stalwart voice in the movement to secure American borders for economic, crime prevention, and national security reasons.
“Since founding the most widely recognized organization advocating secure borders in the United States, I have been voicing my support for those candidates that will be steadfast in their effort to secure our borders. Vance Patterson is the best candidate to protect Western North Carolina jobs, businesses, and even lives from the adverse effects of our practically wide open borders,” said Gilchrist. “I trust Vance Patterson to do what’s right for the business owners that drive our economy, the people of Western North Carolina, and America as a whole. Please give him your vote on July 17th.”
In response, Patterson said, “I am honored to have the endorsement of Jim Gilchrist, and I admire him and his organization for their dedication to securing our borders, against vicious opposition from governments and groups on both sides of the border. I will work diligently in the House of Representatives to make sure our Border Patrol has the resources and directives to support legal immigration, and prevent illegal immigration.”
Vance Patterson is a candidate for North Carolina’s 11th congressional district in the July 17th Republican primary runoff. Patterson is an entrepreneur in Morganton, NC, and has started 16 companies throughout his career, including two that have been named in “INC. 500 fastest growing companies in America.”
Is an Arizona style immigration law coming to your state?
A US Supreme Court ruling favoring Arizona’s SB1070 could cause American voters to consider tough enforcement referendums. Polls show most voters in most states would support an Arizona style immigration law.
Many previous attempts across the nation to crack down on illegal immigration at the state and local level were struck down by the courts. If the Supreme Court does rule in favor of Arizona things would be different.
Enforcement proponents in many jurisdictions will be emboldened by a decision favorable to SB1070. Even in Democrat dominated states tough enforcement referendums would have wide support. With federal lawmakers paralyzed by the unpopularity of amnesty legislation the immigration issue will play out in the states.
This court decision has the potential to be a real game changer.

So a local Republican politician warmly embraces the ‘endorsement’ of a vigilante from some other state who willingly accepted the help of neo-Nazi group the National Alliance in his failed Congressional bid in 2005. He also claims the United States is under ‘invasion’ by illegal aliens, and that there are at least “30 million or more” illegals in the U.S., many of them (up to 20%, he says) “criminals.” And, to top that, his awesome psychic powers enables him to know that an additional 10% “would become criminals.”
An impressive endorsement to be sure.
