UPDATE: APD investigating three robberies, possibly related

Update:

14-029970, December 26, 2014 at approximately 9:05 p.m., officers from the Asheville Police Department responded to an armed robbery at Rita’s Ice Cream located at 5 Regent Park Blvd. They arrived to find that a male suspect had robbed the business at gunpoint. No one was injured during the incident, and the suspect made away with currency from the register.

14-030238 – On December 30, 2014 at approximately 10:50 p.m., a man walked into Pepperoni’s Gourmet Pizza at 1636 Hendersonville Road and robbed the business at gunpoint. No one was injured during the incident, and the suspect left with currency from the register. The suspect was seen getting into a white Lincoln Navigator and drove south on Hendersonville Road.

15-000063 – On January 1, 2015 at approximately 8:37 p.m., a man walked into Jersey Mikes located at 104 River Hills Road and robbed the business at gunpoint. No one was physically injured during the incident, and the suspect left with currency from the register. Employees saw a male in a white SUV pull beside the business just before the robbery.

The suspect in all three cases was described as a white male wearing a dark hoodie with a bandanna covering his face. He was between 5’ 6” and 6’ and weighed between 165 to 200 pounds.

Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division believe that these three incidents are related. They are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in these cases.
