Asheville to Host SBA Boots to Business: Reboot Program
Free One-Day Entrepreneurial Training for Military Veterans and Their Spouses

Charlotte, NC – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is teaming up with local resource partners to offer a FREE one-day entrepreneurial training class to all veterans looking to start or grow a business in Asheville at the Pack Library on Monday, April 25, 2016. The workshop covers various topics including business plan writing, setting up a legal structure, and securing funding.

The hard work and expertise of our partners help make Boots to Business possible,” says SBA District Director Lynn Douthett.  “The Reboot program provides a solid foundation to service members who have already made the transition to civilian life.”

Boots to Business: Reboot” is a one-day training program providing participants an overview of business ownership as a career vocation, an outline and knowledge of the components of a business plan, a practical exercise in opportunity recognition, and an introduction to available public and private resources. Veterans and service members (including National Guard and Reserves) and their spouses are eligible. This course is taught by SBA and its partners who are skilled business advisors.

Following the one-day training, participants will be eligible to participate in an online eight-week follow-on Foundations of Entrepreneurship course instructed by a consortium of professors and practitioners led by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University. Upon completion, participants will have the tools and knowledge needed to launch their own businesses.
