The 4th annual Asheville Tattoo and Arts Expo takes place Friday-Sunday, March 13-15, at Asheville Renaissance Hotel and Asheville Masonic Temple. Food trucks, tattoos, pinups and more.

Press release from event organizers:

From food trucks and tattoos to hot rods and pinups, puppies and face painting to contests and vendors the 4th Annual Asheville Tattoo and Arts Expo is a whole weekend of fun and adventure in the heart of down town.  This year’s festival is all about fun events for everyone to enjoy.  Of course the best artists from Scotland to Japan and everywhere in between will be tattooing at the Renaissance Hotel all weekend.  Once you’ve got your new tattoo, the fun is just beginning.

Friday the festival kicks off with several events at the hotel.  Meet the stars of Inkmaster and Tattoo Nightmares, choose the artist you want to get tattooed by and set your appointment.  One lucky attendee will win a free cover up tattoo to fix their personal Tattoo Nightmare.  There will be vendors like Sullen Clothing, Steadfast Brand and Ink addict, live model painting and the Tattoo of the Day contest.  The highlight will be the Pinup Contest sponsored by Sailor Jerry Rum and raising money for Pinups for Pitbulls, one of several charities benefitted by the convention.

The pinups will no doubt turn out for the custom bike and Rat Rod show at the hotel.  Bootleggers Car Club will bring some of the most amazing, hand built custom hot rods you will ever see!  After seeing the cars be sure to go to The Asheville Food Truck Showdown at the Masonic Temple on Broadway.  Try some of the most innovative food from the best trucks in WNC, vote for your favorite and see what the celebrity judges have to say about their signature dishes.  This event will have music, food, face painting and puppies available for adoption from the Asheville Humane Society.  You are encouraged to bring kitty litter, pet food and toys to donate to the Asheville Humane Society.

Participants are encouraged to plan their visit to the festival so they have time to enter the tattoo contests and show off their ink!  This is a fun way to show the world the amazing work being done and to win trophies and recognition for amazing artists.  Show goers might even see their tattoos in a national magazine if they catch the photographer’s eye.  If being onstage isn’t someone’s cup of tea they should be sure to enter to win the free Sailor Jerry tattoos that will be given out each day by Sailor Jerry Rum.
