Asheville Truffle Experience returns, Feb. 19-20

PRESS RELEASE from Asheville Truffle Experience:

The Asheville Truffle Experience returns in elegance and style this Friday and Saturday, February 19th and 20th, with multiple mouth-watering sessions spiraling out from the Haywood Park Hotel in beautiful downtown Asheville.  Guests will plunge into the mystery of this ultra-prized ingredient, the magical Tuber melanosporum—otherwise known as the Périgord (Black Winter) Truffle—traditionally hailing from the deep, dark woods of France, Italy and Spain, but now also to being cultivated in both the northwest and the southeast of the United States.

Guests will be received in the lobby of the Haywood Park Hotel at 3:00pm on Friday, the 19th. At 4:00pm an open reception will be held at the Asheville Chamber of Commerce, with appetizers by Chef Anthony Cerrato. The official Friday night welcome will be held at The Market Place Restaurant on Wall Street at 5:30pm, with multiple truffled appetizers by Chef William Dissen.

Saturday morning will open with an educational session held in the Cellar at Isa’s Bistro at 10:00am, and will feature Dr. Tom Michaels of Tennessee Truffle, Jane Morgan Smith of Keep Your Fork Farm and the North American Truffle Growers Association, and Lois Martin of the Truffle Dog Company. Saturday afternoon will continue with a culinary demo & tasting (location TBA) from 2-4:00pm. On Saturday evening, Chef Duane Fernandes and Isa’s Bistro will provide guests with a variety of provocative dishes during a special seated truffle extravaganza.

Pricing for the weekend ensemble is $476, with the option of registration à la carte. Visit www.ashevilletruffle.com for further details, or contact Susi Gott Séguret at 828-301-2792.
