Asheville Music School holding auditions for ensembles and bands

Asheville Music School is holding auditions on April 21 for area youth vocalists and instrumentalists for Summer Performance Workshop Ensembles and year long Community Outreach Bands

On Saturday April 21 the Asheville Music School will be holding auditions for its summer Performance Workshop series and year long Outreach Music ensembles. Intermediate to advanced musicians (all instruments, voices, and styles) ages 6-17 are encouraged to audition. Auditions are for placement into small group ensembles. Participants should prepare one song/piece to perform for faculty. Call ahead to schedule your audition time, 828-252-6244. Auditions will be held at the Asheville Music School, 101 S. Lexington Ave, Asheville, NC 28801.

Performance Workshops will begin mid June and run until the end of July, culminating in a performance at Bele Chere. Workshops will be held once a week for 3 hours. Workshop groups include: jazz ensemble with Gary Bradley, piano band with Frank Argento, contemporary ensembles with Amy Rae and Ryan Reardon, youth chorus with Timothy Wilds, string ensembles/chamber music with Mariya Potopova, musical theatre, and more.
