Asheville School to hold open house Jan. 20

Press Release

Asheville School

On Monday, January 20 (MLK Day), Asheville School will host an Open House for those students and families who are interested in Asheville School or generally want to learn more about the day or boarding experience. The Open House begins at 9:30 a.m., and provides a fantastic, low-key introduction to four important aspects of school life: residential and community life, academics and relationships, athletics and afternoon activities, and college matriculation.

The three-hour Open House will include a tour of the school’s new state-of-the-art Vandergrift Science Center as part of a campus tour led by current students, faculty presentations, a student panel, and an overview of the admission process.
“The upcoming Open House is a wonderful way to learn about Asheville School in an informal way,” said Admission Director Morgan Scoville. “If you are unsure about Asheville School or simply want to get a better feel for our community without committing to an individualized visit, then attending an Open House would be a great idea. Most families that attend one of our Open Houses always return to campus because they are surprised by what they learn, see, and feel and want to see exactly what they need to do to apply and enroll.”

Because space is limited, parents should register soon to learn more about the school’s talented teachers, small class sizes, and small student body of 280 high school students representing 20 states and 17 countries.
“My daughter is truly joyous about being there,” said Debbie Patrick, of Hendersonville, whose daughter, Cori, is a junior at Asheville School. “She has teachers who challenge her, and the subject matter interests her. There are healthy outlets by way of kids being involved in sports and other after-school activities. She’s getting to meet diverse people from all over the world and that has been good for her.”

To register, please call the Admission Office at 828-254-6345 or email HYPERLINK “mailto:admission@ashevilleschool.org” admission@ashevilleschool.org.
