Asheville Track Club opens registration for Thomas Wolfe 8K

The 37th running of the Thomas Wolfe 8K will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. “The course remains the same as 2012 with the minor change of starting/finishing at Wolfe’s Old Home Place,” says the event’s website.

The race will “benefit the Literacy Council of Buncombe County’s Augustine Project (free tutoring for children), Riverlink, and Connect Buncombe. In addition to the awards at the end, this race is unique in that it includes two cash sprints: the 1 Mile Sprint and the 3 Mile sprint, both sponsored by Jus’ Running. The fastest male and female runners at each marker will receive a cash bonus of $50.”

Registration is $25 until Sept. 15. After that, the rate goes up to $30 until Oct. 10 and $35 on race day.
