Asheville’s first melodica orchestra, Aug. 21

PRESS RELEASE FROM PAN HARMONIA:

Next Road Over, Asheville’s first melodica orchestra
Barbara Weiss and friends in concert next Sunday, August 21

After several years rehearsing in a basement studio, Asheville’s first melodica orchestra, Next Road Over, performs its debut concert on Sunday August 21 at 3 pm at St Matthias church.

The missing link between an accordion and a harmonica, the melodica is based on technology that has been around for thousands of years in Southeast Asia. It was “invented” in Germany in the 1950s.

Guest guitarist Amy Brucksch will join this intrepid band for a varied program that will include jazz standards, folk tunes, baroque sonatas, rock and roll covers, and Latin music.
