Designer, entrepreneur and all-around leather accessory guru Mary Lynn Schroeder was featured in Southern Living’s March 2015 issue for her success with company In Blue Leather Goods. In Blue specializes in handmade leather journals and other accessories, and the company just launched its own online store at shop.inbluehandmade.com/.

“I started making small purses and skirts and things out of quilting fabric,” she told Southern Living, but “I needed something more tangible, and working with leather has been a fulfillment of that for me.”

In Blue is Etsy.com’s number one seller of leather goods, and the store poised to attract even more customers following publication of several promotional codes along with Schroeder’s feature article. Buyers are invited to enter “SOUTHERNLIVING1” for 20 percent off any order and “SOUTHERNLIVING2” for 30 percent off orders of more than $150.

In Blue is also in the running for one of ten small business grants by FedEx, including a $25,000 grand prize. Supporters can vote for Schroeder’s company through social media by clicking here.
