DIAMOND BRAND LEADERSHIP TEAM GAINS PRESIDENT OF RETAIL

New Hire to Help Lead Retail Expansion

ARDEN, N.C. – Diamond Brand Outdoors, Asheville’s leading outdoor retailer for nearly 50 years, is proud to announce the addition of Terry Atwood to its leadership team. Atwood joins the Retail Division of Diamond Brand as President. Atwood will help lead Diamond Brand Outdoors’ expansion into two new retail locations—South Asheville and Downtown Asheville.

Atwood comes to Diamond Brand with a storied track record of success in the retail industry. Most recently, Atwood was the President of the Retail Division for the Nantahala Outdoor Center. Previously, Atwood gained experience in retailing outdoor equipment and apparel in his roles as Senior Merchandising Executive at Galyan’s and Vice President of E-Commerce for Academy Sports & Outdoors. Atwood also was instrumental in launching the online retail concept Piperlime, for Gap, Inc.

Diamond Brand recently announced the addition of two new retail locations. The first location will be just north of the Blue Ridge Parkway on Hendersonville Road, in the Parkway Center, alongside Liberty Bicycles, Starbucks and The Fresh Market. The second new store will be located in the ground floor of the new Aloft Asheville Hotel on Biltmore Avenue in downtown Asheville. Both Stores are scheduled to open in Spring 2014.
