Festiva Development Group and Zealandia Capital conducted an annual Charity Auction on Nov. 21 to raise money for for holiday toy charities. The auction yielded $11,300, which will be donated to Eblen Charity’s St. Nicholas Project, the US Marine Corp’s Toys for Tots, and the Salvation Army’s Giving Tree to support families in need around western North Carolina this Holiday season.
“It’s really rewarding knowing that we’ll be able to bring a little bit of hope to so many children and families in need this Holiday season,” said Sabrina Green, Holiday Auction Committee Chair for Festiva. “And what makes me even more proud is knowing that all the money we raised to be able to give came directly from our own employees.”
Festiva Development Group and Zealandia Capital plan to partner with iHeartMedia Asheville to double the number of toys they will donate with the help of the Asheville community at two upcoming toy drives. The first toy drive will be held Dec. 4-6 at Ingles on Tunnel Road to support Eblen Charity’s St. Nicholas Project. The second toy drive will take place at the Sears Tire Center on Tunnel Road, Dec. 12-13, to support the US Marine Corp’s Toys for Tots program. Festiva and Zealandia Capital will match public donations to these organizations–up to 40 toys for each hour of sponsorship during these toy drives. Additionally, both companies plan to provide gifts for individual families through the Salvation Army’s Giving Tree. Finally, Festiva and Zealandia Capital also plan to match, dollar for dollar, the original amount of funds raised from the Holiday Auction to the Festiva Charitable Fund.
The Festiva Charitable Fund donates to a charitable organization in each of three locations per year. Locations and charities are selected according to where the company operates and what issues are important to the company’s employees and members. In eleven years, the Holiday Auction has raised $122,987. Since its inception in 2006, the Festiva Charitable Fund has gifted over $92,000 to more than 25 different charitable organizations through the country, as well as several national endeavors.
