Local electronic music family band The Volt per Octaves will release its fourth studio album with a show at The Grey Eagle on Friday, July 17. Bernie Worrell of Parliament/Funkadelic will join the group onstage.

Press release from the band:

Funk keyboard legend and two time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Bernie Worrell (of Parliament / Funkadelic, Talking Heads) will be joining Asheville based Moogies. The Volt per Octaves for a special performance to celebrate the release of their 4th studio album “Joining the Circuits.”

Formed in California in 2004, The VPOs set out on a mission to perform live Moog synthesizer based electronic music without the aid of computers. Three Moogfests, 10 plus years and many synthesizers later the family affair is still hard at work making music and evangelizing the sound of true analog electronics.

Join the husband, wife and daughter trio for a fitting album release as they welcome special guest Bernie Worrell to recreate songs off the new album, jam on classic VPO material and touch on some of Mr. Worrell’s greatest funk masterpieces.

The all ages show will take place at The Grey Eagle on July 17th 2015 with opening sets by local acts Tin Foil Hat and Shop Talk.
