Brevard-Hendersonville Parkinson’s support group meetings start Jan. 14

Press release:

The first meeting of the new year for the Brevard-Hendersonville Parkinson’s Support Group will meet Tuesday, January 14 8th at 10:00 in the fellowship hall at Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church, Main Street in Brevard. There will be time to fellowship with one another over light refreshments before Patti Beggs, owner of Brevard’s Elements Spa, leads the group in light Tai Chi movements.

Dr. Mike Dennis, member of the group, will be the featured speaker. Dr. Dennis, semi-retired pediatrician, has Parkinson’s and can help enlighten the group from both the patient and the medical approach to some problems faced by others. There is always an opportunity to ask questions and share thoughts.

The public is always welcome to attend these meetings. The Brevard-Hendersonville Parkinson’s Support Group is made up of wonderful people from this area of western North Carolina. As Dr. Abrahan Lieberman, National Parkinson’s Foundation, says, “Find, join and attend PD support groups, which offer camaraderie with other folks who have gone down the same path as you.”

Contact The Brengle’s, in Hendersonville at 685-7673 or the Eden’s, in Brevard at 862-8820 if you have any questions.
