Brevard College is pleased to announce the hiring of Autumn Weil as director of alumni affairs.

Weil comes to Brevard College with eight years of experience in philanthropic advancement, including four years in higher education.

“We’re thrilled to have Autumn on board as alumni affairs director,” said Brevard College Vice President of Philanthropic Development Susan Cothern. “She brings many skills and years of experience to the position, and has great ideas on how to move our alumni program forward in the future. She will be an excellent member of our team and campus community.”

Weil replaces Rebecca Cox Gill ’05, who is transitioning to the position of Manager of Donor Records within the College’s Philanthropic Development Office.

“I’m excited to represent the interest of Brevard College alumni and let them know they’re a critical part of our community,” Weil said. “I believe there’s great potential on this beautiful campus to have our alumni interested and involved.”

Weil’s first step is acclimating herself to campus. “I’ve been meeting with as many people as possible, whether it’s faculty or staff members, alumni or students. I want to learn the Brevard College culture and to hear their stories. I want our alumni to know I’m here to provide them opportunities to reconnect with us and stay connected.”

A graduate of Indiana University, Weil moved to Asheville after living in Pennsylvania for four years, where she worked for a rural branch campus of The Pennsylvania State University. She holds a Certificate of Annual Sustainability from the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University, is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and is currently enrolled in the Non-profit Management Certification program at Duke University. Weil is also a member of Kiwanis International, and a previous Rotarian.

She enjoys hiking the Pisgah National Forest with her husband, Stephen, and their dog, Pip. Together, they volunteer at the Asheville Humane Society.

You can reach Weil at 828.884.8233 or weilag@brevard.edu.
