A Brio holiday concert on Thursday, Dec. 19

Brio Concert Series has an exciting and eclectic program of holiday music to get you in the spirit! The concert will feature several performances by local musicians. The first half of the concert will feature Sarah Fowler, a fabulous concert pianist and music director at the First Presbyterian Church in Weaverville (picture to the right), who will be performing several holiday classics and Christmas carols.

She will be accompanied by vibraphonist and Brio Concert Series director Jason DeCristofaro, as well as pianist Derrick Everheart. The second half will feature Wendy Jones (pictured below), one of the finest Jazz vocalists in the region, and her quartet of Jason DeCristofaro on vibraphone, Daniel Iannucci on bass, and Rick Dilling on drums. She will be performing a wide selection of holiday repertoire from the Jazz canon, including Nat King Cole’s “Christmas Song (Chestnuts),” “Christmastime is Here,” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” among others. The Joyful Noise String Ensemble, under the direction of Joyful Noise Executive Director and Dr. Gina Caldwell, will perform Christmas carols and selections from the Nutcracker. The concert will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Thursday December 19, at 7 PM. The concert is free and open to all ages, with a suggested donation.
