Bucombe Register of Deeds offers online service for birth, death and marriage certificates

Here’s the press release from the Buncombe County Register of Deeds office:

Request Your Vital Records Online

Your Buncombe County Register of Deeds is making it easier to access vital records by allowing citizens to request and pay for Birth, Death and Marriage certificates online. The certificate will be mailed without requiring a visit to the office. Simply fill out the required info, upload a photo ID and complete the payment. Your request will be processed within one business day. Buncombe County is one of the first Register of Deeds offices in the state to this service online. Please note that only births, deaths and marriages that occurred in Buncombe County can be requested.

This customer service has been created by the County’s Information Technology Department working in conjunction with Drew Reisinger and the Register of Deeds office. This is one more step toward making County government processes easier to use, access and understand. Online job applications, recreation activities, geographical information and mapping are all part of the County’s work to make access to government easier.
