Buncombe Democrats offer campaign training

The Buncombe County Democratic Party is organizing a day of workshops training people on how to work on political campaigns. Here’s the information via the group’s Facebook page:

2014 is when we win back our state!

To do this, Buncombe County Young Democrats are inviting Democrats young and old across WNC for a one-day training on the basics of political campaigns.

Topics for the workshops include:

Social Media, Votebuilder, Campaign Management, Treasurer training, GOTV under new NC voting Law, Fundraising, Field, and NC Issues all presented by people who have worked on campaigns in Western North Carolina. Further information on the sessions, the schedule, and the trainers will be available shortly.

The tentative schedule is:
9:30-10 Registration and Welcome
10-11 Using Social Media to Amplify Candidate Messaging & Recruit Volunteers
11-12 Pick one session- GOTV and voting law OR Fundraising
12-12:30 Lunch
12:30-1:30 Pick one session- Treasurer OR Field
2:30-3:30 Pick one session- Votebuilder OR Campaign Manager
2:30-3:30 2014 NC issues

After the training there will a meet and greet with our 2014 WNC Democrat candidates (Location TBD).
Please purchase tickets for the event prior to the 25th so we can make sure we have enough materials for all attendees. The ticket will include the trainings, lunch, and copies of any materials. You do not have to attend the training or purchase a ticket to attend that evening’s meet and greet.
