Burlington Gardens taking orders for holiday greenery

Bullington Gardens is now taking orders for holiday greenery.

Available are freshly-cut Fraser fir trees, from the North Carolina mountains, as well as garland and wreaths.

The trees and garland are available in various sizes, and will be available for pick-up at the December Bullington Gardens 11th annual Open House and Holiday Sale and Christmas Mart. The sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4 and Saturday, Dec. 5.

Items should be pre-ordered by Wednesday, Nov. 25 as a limited number will be available at the sale.

Also available at the sale will be decorated wreaths and swags as well as unique handmade holiday craft items.

The annual event will also include the sale of premium amaryllis, poinsettias, and cyclamen. Following the sale, these items along with swags and wreaths will be available for sale at Bullington Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Dec. 18 or as supplies last.

A new item for this year’s sale is wreaths for veterans’ graves. For a $15 donation, Bullington will place a wreath decorated with a red bow, to honor a fallen veteran, on a gravesite at the Western Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.

Bullington Gardens, a Horticultural Education Center, is located at 95 Upper Red Oak Trail in Hendersonville. From Highway 64, turn north onto Howard Gap Road. Proceed one mile, and turn right on Zeb Corn Road. Go 2/3 of a mile and turn right on Upper Red Oak Trail.
