Cecil Bothwell among UAW members selected as delegates for the 2016 Democratic National Convention

PRESS RELEASE:

UAW Local members from across the country are serving as delegates at the Democratic National Convention July 25 through 28. Dozens of delegates have been selected to represent a diverse group of UAW members from a variety of states, including Connecticut, Arizona, Oklahoma, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, Missouri, Wisconsin, Iowa and Ohio.

Delegates will spend the week in Philadelphia joining with fellow Democrats from across the nation to achieve several goals, including nominating the party’s candidates for both president and vice president. Delegates also will hear addresses from national Democratic and other progressive leaders, finalize a far-reaching and comprehensive party platform and work to further unify the Democratic party.

The UAW endorsed Hillary Clinton for the nation’s highest office.

“Hillary Clinton understands our issues on trade, understands the complexities of multinational economies and supports American workers, their families and communities,” said UAW President Dennis Williams.

  1. Surprise surprise! I am a member of the National Writer’s Union which is organized under the umbrella of the United Auto Workers, but I had no idea I was a delegate! I hope I had a good time in Philly!
