Christina Kelley G. Merrill touts endorsement from School Board Member Lisa Baldwin

Here’s the press release from the Merrill campaign:

Buncombe County Commission District -2 Candidate Christina Kelley G. Merrill gets Endorsement from School Board Member Lisa Baldwin

Baldwin has established a reputation as an independent voice since her election in 2010, she continues to press the School Board and Commissioners for more fiscal responsibility and transparency.
“Please join me in supporting Christina Kelley G. Merrill for one of the two Buncombe County Commissioner seats in District 2. I am endorsing Christina because she is passionate and hard working. As a parent and small business owner she is genuinely concerned about the residents of our county and its future sustainability. Christina is motivated to seek out fiscally responsible solutions to difficult problems and will not “rubber stamp” away our children’s future.”

Christina Kelley G. Merrill has lived in Buncombe County for nearly 20 years She is a Small Business owner and Parent she is running as an Advocate for Small Business and New Industry and as a Proponent of our hard working Mountain families.

Christina Kelley G. Merrill articulates “The mindset of Spend more, Tax more, Restrict more has got to stop, we can not afford to pass millions in debt on to our children, We can not sustain the abundant spending of or our Tax dollars. I have raised my children in our County schools, I know what it’s like to struggle, I am in touch with our Community, helping to grow local business as a Broadcast PR and Marketing executive. I have also helped to raise thousands of dollars for local Charities such as, The March of Dimes, Broyhill Childrens Home and Make A Wish of WNC. As Volunteer Commissioner and Coach for WNC youth sports, I am on the Ball Fields with our families and many can not afford to put a new roof on their own house much less pay higher taxes for new County buildings! Under the watch of our current Commission many ordinances, referendums and restrictions have been passed that do not reflect the interest of our County Residents, the bulk of which live outside the city. In fact a huge portion of our County has been blatantly disregarded. We can not cave to the squeaky wheel and must listen to our entire County and truly represent and serve all of our Citizens.”
