Citizen-Times: contamination at Grove Park Inn golf course

From the Asheville Citizen-Times:

ASHEVILLE — Testing has revealed pesticide contamination in soil and groundwater at the site of a former golf course maintenance shop at Grove Park Inn.

The N.C. Division of Waste Management has proposed entering into a voluntary agreement with the resort for a cleanup of the property, according to agency documents.

The contamination was discovered during an environmental assessment conducted when the resort was sold by Sammons Enterprises to KSL Capital Partners in April, said Cathy Akroyd, spokeswoman for the division.
