Citizen-Times: Shots fired into Mills River Fire Station

From the Asheville Citizen-Times:

MILLS RIVER — Henderson County authorities are looking for whoever fired more than a dozen shots into a Mills River fire station.

No one was inside the station at 2869 North Mills River Road, and no one was hurt. But damage could be $20,000 or more, according to Mills River Fire Chief Rick Livingston.

“I can tell you that our heating and air conditioning unit was destroyed. Our phone system was destroyed,” Livingston said. A fire truck was also damaged.

Firefighters discovered the damage when they responded to a call Monday morning. They believe the shooting occurred around 10 p.m. the night before because neighbors heard 12 to 15 shots fired.
