Community leaders to hold press conference before EPA hearing in Atlanta

This Tuesday, July 29, green business leaders, local government officials, and citizen activists will hold a press conference at the Westgate Shopping Center before leaving Asheville to attend the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Public Hearing in Atlanta.

At the hearing, these Asheville residents will provide testimony to the EPA on its recently released Clean Power Plan, which aims to cut the United States’ carbon emissions by 30% below 2005 levels by 2030. The rule is an important step forward in combating climate disruption, and Asheville’s delegation will express their support for a strong final rule.

Participants, from across the Asheville community, will collectively tell EPA that North Carolina wants more clean energy and less carbon pollution throughout the state.
