Community Foundation of Henderson County releases annual report

Press Release

Community Foundation of Henderson County

Community Foundation of Henderson County received more than $3.6 million in contributions, had more than $77.6 million in assets and awarded more than $2.49 million in grants to nonprofits and scholarship recipients this past fiscal year.

More about the growth and impact of CFHC’s charitable dollars is showcased in the nonprofit, public charity’s 2013 annual report for the past fiscal year, which was July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.

For more than 30 years, CFHC has been the community’s home for local, planned charitable giving, and the theme of the Community Foundation’s 2013 annual report is “No place like home”.

Feature stories about local philanthropy in the 2013 annual report include profiles of:
• Local volunteer and philanthropy advocate Mary Garrison, who received the Community Foundation’s 2013 Richard C. and Vina L. Sauer Charitable Leadership Award.
• The late Chester “Chet” W. Phillips, whose inspirational bequest this past fiscal year to the Community Foundation of more than $1 million established a fund to meet future and emerging charitable needs in the community.
• Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy, which received a grant from the Community Foundation’s Perry N. Rudnick Endowment Fund to support its efforts to create the Upper Hickory Nut Gorge trail network.

The annual report can be read online at the Community Foundation’s recently revamped website, www.CFHCforever.org. The digital version of the report can be accessed easily through a link in body of the homepage under the News & Events section on the right-hand side of the homepage. Printed copies are available at the Community Foundation’s office at 401 N. Main St., Suite 300 in downtown Hendersonville and also can be requested by calling (828) 697-6224.

Since its founding in 1982, Community Foundation of Henderson County has been helping people who care make lasting contributions to causes that matter. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Community Foundation accepts gifts from individuals, families, businesses and organizations to create a pool of charitable dollars from which grants are awarded to address community needs.
